- Wow! You're going to solve all the world's problems?
No. The big picture is to provide some context for our
work. We consider our work to be a pilot project
towards the Common Goal 2060. We hope there will
be other such experiments by us and others.
- Are you saying the population growth is not a problem?
No. We'd love to slow down the population growth
further. But even with current trends, there is light at the
end of the tunnel.
- Is education really necessary? Isn't free trade
enough?
Wealth without education is a fleeting joy in the grand
march of time, because it does not enable a population
to go beyond the basic needs. Education is necessary
to avoid the aberrations in the practice of free trade.
Frequently Asked Questions
Geoseed Project
- You really mean that mailing back issues of National
Geographic will solve all of the world's problems?
No. It is one way to leverage the curiosity of children to
interest them in learning. We expect that motivated
children will be supported by their parents and teachers
to further their interests. We provide brain candy to girls!
- Are you considering distributing other magazines?
- How do you assess the teacher's need?
Their word is good enough for us. Teachers are usually
conscientious and truthful.
- I don't live in the Silicon Valley. How will you get my
back issues?
Currently, we're accepting back issues only in Silicon
Valley. However, please do contact us if you're
interested. We'll find a way to work towards Common
Goal 2060.
- Why don't you ship a container of back issues of
National Geographic to each country and be done with
it?
We want to strengthen the most interested and needy
teachers and girls. Since such teachers are found
geographically dispersed around the world, the
container approach does not work for us. Fortunately,
the Internet enables us to focus our effort very precisely
worldwide. Mailing does cost much more, but it
reaches well qualified recipients.
